That 80's Hair Band Through The Years

Here is a clip of the Band playing throughout the years. From the early start in 2002 and up to recent shows in 2009. The Band has gone through some changes in the years but always kept improving and rocking out. In the next coming weeks there will be stories and more clips from the early days at the Reservoir, Spenders, Jam Room, Steel, etc, and how they started the Metal Mayhem Friday Nights. Who was involved? what was happening at the time? Stay tuned...

Archive Video Released

Found this early clip of the band playing The Steel Music Hall in Rochester NY. The band is playing Ain't Talkin Bout Love and Little Dreamer by Van Halen. It features one of the Kramer 5150 guitars the band use to bring out for shows, and also some past members during its 2002-2003 years. Video was taken secretly by the light tech at the club and resurfaced years later. Very nice clip of the band pretty much starting out in their first couple of years of shows.

Heather from Rock of Love loves our Troops!

October 31st 2009 Halloween show at Macaroons Nite Club in Cheektowaga NY. Heather from the VH1 show Rock of Love with Brett Michaels stopped by and was a little tipsy. Heather jumped on stage with the band and dances to Sweet Child of Mine and Talk Dirty to Me. Also her boob kept making a surpise appearance all night popping out.
Later in the night the band gave away a guitar for best costume and there were many people who entered with very creative costumes. The crowd were the judges and the girl who won (who is not in this clip) was dressed as a bee. The Barbie in the Box costume was very creative and many believed she should have won the prize on the fact alone that of just walking around in a box must have been very uncomfortable, but the crowd had voted. Also in competition were 3 people dressed as US Soliders. They were not in the running but Heather had some nice commentary to add to the contest, including thinking Barbie in the Box was cute then later threatening her! Very Nice!

Part II with Michael Angelo Batio in Rochester!

November 21st 2009 Michael Angelo was doing his clinic at House of Guitars in Rochester NY and the band was playing in town that night. Michael Angelo stops by once again and plays out the night to some awesome 80's tunes. In this clip is another jam between Jason and MAB just having fun. More clips to be added from this night and from the October show soon..

The Haunted Terminal in Buffalo Halloween Show!

October 24th 2009 the band played the Haunted Terminal in Buffalo which included the Rochester Band Johnny Smoke doing their classic 70's set and That 80's Hair Band playing of course the 80's. With barely a sound check the band got up and played a powerful set and later invited Johnny Smoke to come up for a jam. In the clip provided on Youtube the band is playing Back in Black and in another clip is playing Metal Health with people just jumping on stage dancing and in the middle of the tune..

Michael Angelo Batio jams with That 80's Hair Band

On October 3rd 2009 one of the world's fastest Guitar Shredders, Michael Angelo Batio, was doing a Guitar Clinic at West Seneca Music for Dean Guitars. The band happened to be playing that night of the clinic across the street at the Club Desi's South and asked Michael Angelo if he wanted to sit in and jam. Instead of just playing one tune he stayed the whole night and played a bunch of classic 80's tunes with the Band. The band played the Van Halen Cover of "You Really Got Me" and goes off in a crazy jam, which lead to a improv of other tunes including "LA Woman." More videos of this night will soon surface but for now this clip is available.

Buffalo Music Awards 2009

2009 Buffalo Music Awards this year was held at Club Paradise which was packed and was very hot, (hot as in the heat in the building--must have been on 90 degrees very--uncomfortable) and hardly could move. Although the band didn't take home the award for Best Hard Rock Band this year(which to some seem fishy), Jason Neubauer won Best Hard Rock Guitarist.
For the past 6 years or more the band was offered every year to play the award show but was denied due to complications with owners of venues and such being involved with the event. In 2009 the band was invited again and accepted even though their Bass Player was in Florida they called their friend Chris to fill in for the night.
The clip found on Youtube shows the Band playing Metal Health with an introduction by one of organizers of the awards then fades out. The rest of the songs that night included Back in Black, Sweet Child of Mine, and Still of theNight.
